THE CHAIR


The Chair of Artificial Intelligence and Language Technology is a tool for strengthening the promotion, dissemination, training, transfer, and research in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Language Technology (AI&LT). The Chair's main goal is to enhance the positive impact of AI&LT on society at large and on the productive sector, with a special emphasis on promoting the development of digital skills, boosting and attracting global talent. It also aims to encourage a wider educational offering focused on AI, as well as to reinforce research and knowledge transfer activities in AI&LT. Additionally, it seeks to enhance outreach activities and public-private collaboration, thereby contributing to positioning the UPV/EHU at the forefront of technology.
The chair is formed by various research groups from UPV/EHU, notably the HiTZ intensive research center (https://www.hitz.eus/es ), as well as the Avature (https://www.avature.net) company. It is also in alliance with several  companies.

KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER


Transfer between researchers and companies, both internally within the Chair through specific actions, and externally through open events. We offer high-level personalized and specialized consulting.
The research lines, aligned with thesis projects among the Chair’s partner entities, include:

TRAINING


The Chair of Artificial Intelligence and Language Technology is a tool for strengthening the promotion, dissemination, training, transfer, and research in this field. The Chair promotes the training of students working on undergraduate and master’s theses on AI&LT topics. It also offers specialized courses and seminars in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Language Technology, designed for professionals, researchers, and students who wish to update and deepen their knowledge in AI&LT. These specializations offer practical immersion in deep learning, generative language models (LLMs), and their applications. Our approach guides participants from foundational concepts to the most advanced methodologies, ensuring progressive and applied learning. Each course is independent, allowing individuals to take them separately or combine them based on their needs and skills.
