Researcher position on Multilingual Speech Systems
The candidate will participate in the Ilenia project whose objective is the development of language technologies, resources and tools for Basque. The results of the project will place Basque language in a position to allow the use of AI applications also in that language.
This position is intended to create synthetic prototypes which integrate the multiple functionalities of speech technologies, involving TTS, ASR, language detection etc. To this end, the candidate will perform the following tasks:
- Development of multilingual TTS systems into the various platforms (Linux, windows, Android)
- Implementation of showcases of the results of the project.
- Integration of speech processing modules into the different prototypes of the project.
- Writing reports and research papers.
The candidate will work with the research group Aholab, located in the Faculty of Engineering of Bilbao. The candidate will have the
possibility of attending national and international conferences.
The candidate should preferably have a BSc degree in telecommunications engineering or computer science, and a MSc in a related field. We are looking for individuals who are passionate about speech technologies and have a strong background in computer science and related fields.
The applicants must demonstrate excellent communication skills in English. Knowledge of Basque will be highly valued.
